Jeff, Andy, and Casey are the founders of Keel Custom Homes and have known each other for years. They started working together after the Great Recession on various real estate deals. As the years passed, they slowly planned to start a home-building company. Each partner had a background in home building; therefore, the company's evolution was a natural fit. Andy and Jeff had previously worked together for Ryan Homes and Casey for Centex Homes. They believed their expertise and knowledge in the home building industry would allow them to run a company that brought the best parts of those production builders to Virginia's custom buyer’s experience. In 2018, Keel Custom Homes was officially formed. As Keel began to take off, several core values seemed to emerge:
